Intuition: the 6th sense (part 1)

I decided to share something with my Revitalize members that I’ve been hesitant to share with the masses.

But I decided I would go ahead and share this particular experience more broadly in hopes of providing a channel for inspiration & validation for those who resonate with the mysterious (and even mystical) ways of life.

Something happened yesterday that I wanted to share with others not only because it left me speechless, but also because it's important that you know you also have this remarkable capacity within you.

What I am going to share with you isn't a gift that 'only I have'... it's an actual skill set we all have available to us to practice using day in and day out.

I woke up today and realized I felt called to put this humbling experience into writing as soon as I could (perhaps one of you out there really needs to hear this?)

Also, I'm going to share this in two parts... because I want to offer some context first.

The story I want to share with you relates to the power of Intuition.

Despite us living in a society that deems anything we can't measure or touch (or anything that's found outside of our 5 senses) as woo woo or 'out there' or 'not real because there's no evidence to prove' it - one thing I've come to realize is Intuition is the most real and raw sense we have. And it's where our deepest Truth lies (whether we're navigating decisions around 'how much protein does my body need today?' or ‘do I need nervous system grounding or a workout today?’ or 'how do I know what my next career move is if I still want to earn a decent living but not enter self-sacrifice mode?').

No evidence is needed to prove the power of what you know to be True for yourself and your needs (but I know, this is where the inner work lies, as many women get stuck in the loop of indecision & confusion… what’s ’real/True’ and where not?)

For me personally, I’ve always been deeply intuitive. I've always just 'known' things without the need to overthink or second guess that most people sit on for days, weeks, months, or even years. I've grappled with this strong inner knowing for years though... and often felt wrong, weird, & conflicted because of this heightened awareness I was experiencing that never seemed to 'fit in with' society and especially my work as a healthcare provider (I was constantly being trained to cover my ass, justify everything I thought/did, and fit a mold that I constantly felt the desire to squirm out of).

It got especially difficult to 'speak my Truth' when I would get kickback from people I cared about (perhaps bosses/colleagues, the occasional former PT patient, even my now husband... basically people who mattered to me and I wanted to appease).

Anytime my fear of rejection would get triggered, I'd immediately shut up (and stop vocalizing what was on my mind/heart) and revert right back to following the belief pathways of others despite every cell is my body crying out saying 'noooo, that's their pathway, not yours! it's okay to think/feel differently from others!'

And so - to say that it's been a journey - would be an understatement. But it's one I would travel all over again because of the magical experiences that have unfolded since I’ve learned to trust this mystical little current that guides my way.

When I think back on how my Intuition has played a pivotal role in my life, it’s amazing to me really just how loud and clear this little inner voice has been for me (it’s okay if this hasn’t been your experience… like a muscle, it can take practice/training strengthening the Intuition muscle)

One example that rings clear in my memory was when I had a strong inner knowing in 5th grade that I wanted (almost feeling a ‘need’) to go to Alaska. Well 15 years later, through a series of events that I couldn't have predicted myself, I was finding myself packing my life into two suitcases and moving to Alaska. That's where I met my now husband, gathered lifelong friendships, and of course learned some biiiig life lessons (zoiks).

I have many other Intuition-based stories like this... and I'm sure you have your own too

Like when you just knew you had found the partner/spouse that your Soul was meant to find, or when you just knew you had to exit a partnership (biz or romantic)because it was no longer aligned, or when you knew that you had to take that job that would inevitably make you leave your comfort zone but something inside of you said 'it's worth it, keep going.'

Now here's where I'm going to go just a tad deeper...

It's an even more wild (and wildly Intuitive) experience when you suddenly begin to fully recognize (and take seriously) that you're actually getting energetic downloads from another human (the dynamic where you think something and sure as heck they say it later that day).

Ever had that experience? Those synchronicities... (I bet you can think of a few!)

Or you think of a long time friend and a day later, they send you a text out of the blue?

Tell me that doesn't make you jump for joy that there's an unseen energy orchestrating our connectedness as human beings?! (oooh I just love pondering that)

And so - with all of that context in mind - I'll share with you my powerful example of just how magical that inner connectedness is between us and how your Intuition is always giving you 'thought downloads' that actually do hold meaning for you and whomever you're communicating with and/or whatever decision you're grappling with.

I'm excited to share this story with you in part two…

It’s the essence of why I work with women the way I do…

And why I feel so strongly that you can have the most consistent exercise routine, eat the cleanest of diets, take the best of supplements, receive customized hormone replacement therapy, and have a top notch team of providers, but if you don’t build a foundation of practicing listening to your Intuitive nudges then you’ll find yourself second-guessing, overthinking, & spending your resources (time/money/energy) on treatments or products from a place of fear as opposed to intuitive alignment (and never fully seeing the bigger picture).

So on that note - stay tuned for this fun story - it’s too cool to keep it private.
